HIGHLIGHTS OF 2023

Education support for vulnerable children & teenagers
Our youth support program is expanding. We are now working with 3 Orphanages in Santa Cruz. In 2023 we provided education support for 26 children who improved their academic results, technical study grants for 6 students who all passed their courses with excellence & life skills training for 30 other children. We also provided training for 7 caregivers & 17 volunteers in special teaching techniques.

This work was possible thanks to donations from J.D.Tate Foundation & local support & implementation through our partner Fundesoc.

International Leadership diploma for young Latin American women
Through our Vice President Claudia as a volunteer trainer, during 2023 we continued to provide support to this initiative in partnership with MORE Latin America, ADOPEM & GSL Network. 105 Latin American students completed this year´s international, online course with full grants.

Support to volunteer firefighters in Santa Cruz
With continued support from J.D.Tate Foundation, we helped the Quebracho Association of Volunteer Forest Firefighters (ABFQ) to purchase a 4x4 vehicle & better equip themselves for field operations in rural areas where annual forest fires sadly continue to be a serious problem not only for valuable protected areas but also for rural communities.

HIGHLIGHTS OF 2022

Education support for disadvantaged children & teenagers:
In 2022 we continue to provide education support & 2 technical study grants for 25 children & 2 teenagers of Francisca Casci Children´s Home. We also started a new project that provides technical & social skills training for over 35 teenage girls at Casa Main Home in Santa Cruz, that we hope to continue in 2023 & for which we are seeking ongoing funding. This is currently supported by funding from J.D.Tate Foundation, IMF Giving Together & individual donations, to whom we are very grateful!

Leadership diploma & Internship for young Latin American women:
This initiative continues in 2022, with an internship & live course attendance in Dominican Republic for 1 of our previous Bolivian graduates.
Also 4 new Bolivian students participated in this year´s international, online course where our Vice President Claudia provided training and BFSD partnered with ADOPEM, GSL Network & MORE Latin America.
Since 2020, 13 Bolivian students have benefitted from this unique opportunity!

Support to volunteer firefighters in Santa Cruz
The forest fire truck, or “Guardian of the Forest”, purchased last year by the Quebracho Association of Volunteer Firefighters (ABFQ), still needs more support to finish equipping it for operation before the next forest fire season starts. So, with continued support from J.D.Tate Foundation & others, we & ABFQ are working against the clock to make this happen.
